BANGOR and EXETER - , 75, passed away peacefully Oct. 28, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born May 10, 1936, in Exeter, the son of Orrin and Alice (Avery) Eaton. He was the youngest of a family of seven. He worked at several local factories throughout the years and worked as a millwright for New England Regional Council of Carpenters, but he was the happiest when driving trucks hauling gravel or potatoes for local businesses. Like his father, he was busy with his hands, and enjoyed tinkering in the back garage on the farmstead. He liked stopping by the small streams to catch a brook trout, gardening, playing his guitar and singing his favorite country tunes. He was truly the happiest when living on the hill in Exeter. Chellie Pingree, a Democrat running for the 1st Congressional District seat, has won an endorsement from a union representing more than 1,000 Maine carpenters. John Leavitt, manager of Local 1996 of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters, said the union backs Pingree because she has a history of supporting working families in Maine.
