Green Bay - If it's possible, coach Bill Belichick might be even more grim-faced than usual Sunday when his New England Patriots visit Lambeau Field to meet the Packers. Based on point-spread history, the Patriots' 17-14 loss to the New York Jets as a 10-point favorite was the worst upset of Belichick's 116-game career in New England. Previously, he had lost five times when favored by six or more points but the spread in none of those games had been more than 10.
PATRIOTS OFFENSE: With so many new options to throw to, the belief is that Patriots QB Tom Brady will wing the ball all over the field and have a career season. And he might. After all, it is difficult to ignore the talent at wide receiver with Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker and others. Brady will certainly take his shots downfield. But let's not forget something. The Patriots are, and always have been, a power team. Don't expect them to abandon the run. While Laurence Maroney is more of a slasher than a power runner, he can pick up tough yards. The Jets were ranked 24th against the run last year and have most of the same crew back. Beyond that, look for Pats TE Ben Watson to have a big day. The Jets blitz as much or more than anyone in the NFL, and Brady will need to get rid ...
