A group of residents who live just outside the footprint of the 88-acre East Baltimore Development Inc. project say their home values have plunged as uncertainty over the future of the low- income community and widespread blight have taken hold of their neighborhood.
Residents who live on streets such as Chase, Chester, and Biddle, and North Patterson Park Avenue, attended a meeting at EBDI's offices Monday to protest declining home values, a problem they share with many other homeowners who have lost value on assessments because of the recession.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Friday, April 8, Iraqi security forces loyal to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki launched a deadly and vicious attack on thousands of defenseless and unarmed Iranian refugees in Camp Ashraf, Iraq. This unprovoked and inhumane assault led to a devastatingly large number of casualties, which thus far include 33 dead and more than 300 injured, 18 of them with life-threatening wounds. Sadly, there were also eight women who lost their lives.

Near East Pearled Couscous. Roasted Garlic & Olive Oil, and Basil & Herb. $2.69 per 5-ounce box. Bonnie: Near East has just introduced two new varieties of pearled couscous. Pearled -- or Israeli -- couscous is just a larger, round version of regular couscous that takes longer to cook. The pearled couscous takes about 13 minutes longer to prepare than the Near East Plain Whole Grain Couscous I usually use.
A serving of the latter product contains 7 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, no sodium (unless you add some) and the goodness of whole grains in a 1-cup serving, and only takes about 5 minutes to make.

The Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies was approved by the secretary of Defense in 2000 and formally launched in October of that year. The youngest of the regional centers administered by the Defense security Cooperation Agency. The center covers one of the most diverse and volatile areas of the world, stretching from the western end of North Africa to the Himalayas - from Marrakech to Bangladesh. The NESA Center region includes that part of the world where the United States has the greatest number of U.S. combat troops deployed, more than 250,000 military and civilian personnel in the Central Command countries alone.
