In a matter of months, Fred Obereker could be a neighbor to Western Pennsylvania's first all-"green" cemetery. Pete McQuillin, chief executive officer of Land Conservation Cemeteries, a for-profit land restoration and cemetery company, applied for a zoning change in Penn Hills that would allow him to open what would be called Penn Forest Natural Burial Park on a 26- acre plot next to Penn Hills Community Park.

At the height of the Jazz Age, politicians, celebrities and other well-to-do Americans flocked to the luxurious French Lick Springs Resort, nestled in the rolling hills of the Hoosier National Forest, to "take the waters." • Discover Pass Required Starting Tuesday

Washingtons new Discover Pass costing $11.50 a day or $35 annually will be required beginning Tuesday to use more than 7 million acres of state park, forest and recreation lands.
