Southwest Airlines will temporarily halt flights on three routes early next year as it deals with a decline in air traffic and tries to bend its schedule to fit seasonal demand.
The airline published a new schedule Tuesday that covers flights from next Jan. 9 to March 12.

Marine Sgt. Garrett A. Misener's family will not be able to travel to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware tonight - when his body is expected to return to the U.S. - because of the blizzard that struck the East Coast and forced airlines to cancel flights nationwide.
Misener's mother, Janne Zaccagnino, said a five-hour flight from Dover to Memphis will then bring her son home.

Both of West Virginia's U.S. senators are fighting the proposed elimination of a rural air service subsidy program that brought nearly $9 million to the state last year.
S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Thursday proposed an amendment to a Federal Aviation Administration funding bill that would eliminate the $200 million Essential Air Service program, which provides commercial airlines with subsidies to provide regularly scheduled service to about 150 communities nationwide.
