Electronic commerce tax administration in Canada was the subject of Sept 17, 1998 Tax Executives Institute (TEI) comments to Canada's Minister of National Revenue, Herb Dhaliwal. TEI recommended that Revenue Canada should continue to receive input from the business community and international government bodies in it efforts to work toward international agreement on taxation of electronic commerce. Several specific issues were addressed.

Tax Executives Institute (TEI) filed a brief on Feb 25, 1999, opposing a law suit by the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) against the IRS. The brief was filed with the US District Court for the District of Columbia. The BNA suit argues the IRS should disclose advance pricing agreements under the Freedom of Information Act and IRC section 6110. TEI claimed advanced pricing agreements are confidential documents protected by 26 USC section 6103.
As tax day arrives, a new report shows Connecticut's middle class and poor families pay a much higher percentage of their income in state sales and local taxes than do the wealthiest families. The report by Connecticut Voices for Children was based on an analysis of state and local tax data by the national Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy.
