The Georgia man quarantined for a drug-resistant form of tuberculosis fielded phone calls from friends and family and underwent a host of drug therapies Saturday as he settled in for what could be a two-month stay at a Denver hospital.
Andrew Speaker, the first person placed under federal quarantine since 1963, awoke at 8 a.m., had breakfast and spent much of the day on the phone with well-wishers, his nurses at National Jewish Medical and Research Center reported.
