WHITTIER - Rio Hondo College has received the highest level of certification from a nationwide agency for its Honda PACT program, which trains students in Honda auto technologies and allows them to intern at dealerships while earning course credits.

Just in case you really don't know, ASE stands for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. It's the only national organization that tests technicians on their knowledge of automotive service and repair. There are 47 different certification tests in all. ASE certification is voluntary, but you need to document having two years of hands-on experience in addition to passing a test.

LEESBURG, VA - The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) announced that registration for its Computer-Based Testing (CBT) format for ASE certification tests will open on July 11, 2005. The Summer 2005 testing administration will include all regular and recertification tests for the Collision (B2 through B6) and Truck (T1 through T8) series, along with the addition of the Service Consultant (C 1 ) certification test.
