WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Americans feel their home computers are protected from viruses, malware and hackers but that confidence does not translate to their mobile devices with 87 percent of people surveyed reporting they feel safer going online with their PCs than with their phones, according to the 2010 National Cyber Security Alliance - Norton by Symantec Online Safety Study released today. The study also finds that Americans' stated confidence with their PC's security might not be valid with less than half using the full protection they need to stay safe online.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- As the holiday shopping season and Cyber Monday approaches, a growing majority of Americans - 64 percent - report they have not made an online purchase from a specific website because of security concerns, according to a national poll released today by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA).
When asked to explain why they did not make that purchase, 60 percent said it was because they were not sure if the site was secure, 51.4 percent were worried about providing information requested, and 48.4 percent felt a website requested more information than was necessary for the transaction. Respondents were given the option to pick more than one reason. Zogby International conducted the poll for NCSA.

WASHINGTON, March 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In the last 12 months, 26 percent of K-12 teachers say they've taught kids how to handle incidents of cyberbullying, while only 15 percent said they spoke to students about online "hate speech."
