MALABO, Equatorial Guinea, Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ - - The government of Equatorial Guinea has signed an agreement to host the headquarters of the Confederation of National Non- Governmental Organizations in Africa as part of its growing leadership role on the African continent. President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo also officially offered to host the headquarters of the African Union voluntary Youth Corps in a speech at the recent African Union Summit held in Malabo June 23 - July 1, 2011.

NEW YORK - Goalie Tim Howard of Germantown, who plays for the Everton Football Club in England's Premier League, was one of three goalkeepers selected Tuesday to the 30-man preliminary roster for next month's World Cup soccer play.
Howard has been a fixture on the national team. He had a shutout against France during last summer's Confederation Cup semifinals and was outstanding defending the goal in the U.S. squad's World Cup qualifying matches.

The Swiss Confederation (Switzerland) has never had just one language. Founded in 1290 as cantons in the Holy Roman Empire, the Swiss Confederation gained independence in 1648. At first composed of German cantons, eventually French and Italian speaking peoples joined the confederation. For centuries, the Swiss Confederation has been able to hold together against all of the incessant wars, massacres and national divisions that had continually engulfed the European continent. Three languages-German, French and Italian-are official. Even though there are three official languages, and three distinct European groups living together, the Swiss Confederation is still a reality.
