NEW YORK Wall Street started the week with a mixed performance Monday, as investors regained a cautious stance in response to a weaker-than-expected profit report from Bank of America Corp. and disappointing news from a smaller bank, National City Corp. Investors were clearly uneasy about extending last week's big gains after Bank of America reported that its first-quarter earnings fell 77 percent on write-downs and widening credit losses. Shares of National City dropped after the Midwest bank said it got a $7 billion cash infusion from equity investors, lowered its dividend and posted a $171 million loss for the first quarter.

• City Hit with Five Robberies in Two Weeks ; West-Side Restaurant Robbed Tuesday

BLOOMINGTON - Three men held up a far-west-side restaurant early Tuesday in the fifth robbery at a Bloomington business in the last two weeks, police said.The robbery occurred about 1:15 a.m. at Steak n Shake, 10001 Wylie Drive, said Bloomington police spokesman Duane Moss. Moss said one of the men, who was armed with a handgun, ordered an employee to open cash registers, stole cash from the registers, took the employees wallet and checkbook, and fled east and then north.Moss said he did not know how many people were in the restaurant at the time.Investigators were checking to see if the incident at Steak n Shake was connected with the previous robberies, Moss said. • President, Ceo of First National Bank of Midwest City Honored

Robert Henry Croak, president and chief executive of the First National Bank of Midwest City, has been honored by the bank's board for his contributions to the industry and eastern Oklahoma County. The 63-year-old banker started in the industry almost 50 years ago as a mail boy and coin wrapper for American State Bank in Midwest City, which his father Henry had acquired in 1954. Converted to a national charter in 1962, the 60-year-old institution now operates as First National. I've taken a keen interest in watching an entire community grow from 10,000 in 1954 to its present-day 65,000 and more, said Croak. I like to think we, as a family of bankers, directors and employees, have played an important part in that development.
