Several years ago when Nancy Wang visited the biggest children's museum in Shanghai, China, she was disappointed. The exhibits were not interactive, and the kids could hardly touch anything. As a result, few people visited the museum. Wang, who had recently moved back to China at the time, decided to start her own museum. The Shanghai Discovery Children's Museum is three years old and growing. Wang visited Milwaukee this past weekend to tour the Betty Brinn Children's Museum to get ideas for her own venture. She spoke to Journal Sentinel education reporter Sarah Carr on Sunday afternoon.
Tell me about the museum you started in Shanghai.
