The city's Municipal Utilities Board has passed a rate increase for the September billing cycle.
The increase was passed unanimously by the board at its July 15 meeting.

St. Albans and the Municipal Utilities Board of Commissioners have selected three engineering firms for the city to choose from for the job of changing out the disinfection system at the city's wastewater facility.
Mayor Dick Callaway informed St. Albans City Council members at its meeting Monday that Chapman Technical Group, Dunn Engineering and Triad Engineering have been chosen out of six firms that applied for the job, which will make the facility more efficient.

FONTANA - Angel Santiago is asking voters to re-elect him as a board member for the Inland Empire Utilities Agency, a municipal water agency with a $77 million operating budget funded largely through property taxes and user charges.
His opponent said Thursday that the history of financial rulings against Santiago - including a recent $16,841.59 judgment in Fontana Superior Court for not paying rent on a Hunter's Ridge home - makes him an unfit steward over taxpayer money.

St. Albans City Council agreed Monday night to reverse a recent decision by the Municipal Utilities Commission board to hire a new general manager. City officials also announced they would be studying the possibility of dissolving the group altogether.
During the Aug. 1 council session, Mayor Greg Jones announced the board had decided to eliminate the two co-manager positions and instead hire one general manager. As mayor, Jones is the chair of the MUC board.
