In ESL Federal Credit Union v. Clark Bovee and Brenda Crowe, Judge Kenneth Fisher was asked to review the unusual set of circumstances in a case where a man defaulted on a car loan. His former girlfriend, co-signer of the loan, believed the bank repossessed the vehicle and sold it at a private auction, thereby releasing her from any obligation under the loan. However, the bank reinstated the loan and attempted to hold the woman liable after her co-defendant defaulted on the loan again.
