Students in the waiting room at Fairmont State University's Counseling Center spend the few minutes before their appointment in front of a computer, filling out a questionnaire that evaluates their emotional and psychological state. The questionnaire is the school's newest tool to help counselors recognize students who are in serious distress and better monitor them throughout their treatment, said Andrea Pammer, a psychologist at Fairmont State and Pierpont Community and Technical College.

NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com) - This year's first issue of the Merrill Lynch publication Hedge Fund Monitor offers some interesting observations concerning the general outlook of hedge funds as we move into 2007. Among these, the Monitor, produced by technical research analysts Mary Ann Bartels and Cam Hui, offers one particularly surprising conclusion concerning hedge funds' presumed underweight position in equities and the near-term implications for this on the equities markets.
