Dravon Henry scored three touchdowns and rushed for 105 yards, as Aliquippa rolled to a 32-7 victory against District 9 champion Moniteau at Clarion University's Memorial Stadium. Aliquippa (14-0) will play District 6 champion Tyrone next week in the semifinals. Tyrone defeated District 10 champion Hickory, 26-7.

A judge awarded more than $1.1 million to a Moniteau County couple who sued for injuries from a car accident with a drunken driver.
The judgment was rendered in Miller County Circuit Court more than three years after the suit was filed in 2008.

A Jefferson City man was killed early yesterday on a rural intersection in Moniteau County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Dane McGuire, 21, was driving south on Route O at about 1:20 a.m. in a 2002 Pontiac when he ran off the right side of the road, struck a telephone pole and overturned at Potato Chip Road, the highway patrol said. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was ejected during the wreck.

JEFFERSON CITY -- The House considered its version of the state convention bill proposed by Rep. George Vest of Boonville while the Senate continued to debate its own version of the bill.
Rep. John Watkins of Ste. Genevieve County sought to alter the representation in the bill to make the convention smaller. His amendment failed on a 48-75 vote, with Reps. James Gordon of Boone County, Mortimer McIlhany of Audrain County, Thomas Price of Cole County, C.R. Scholl of Callaway County, Frank Hickox of Moniteau County and Anthony Walker of Cooper County in favor and Reps. Vest, Linton Graves of Howard County and J.F. Cunningham of Randolph County against the change. Rep. John Harris of Boone County was absent.

A Columbia man died Sunday in Moniteau County after his motorcycle crashed into a sign.
Jesse Green, 49, was driving a 2000 Kawasaki on Highway 179 just south of East Splice Creek Road when his vehicle ran off the right side of the road and crashed into a sign. Missouri State Highway Patrol records indicate he was wearing a helmet.

TIPTON -- A Southern Rights meeting that drew people from Moniteau, Cooper and Morgan counties denounced President Abraham Lincoln's call for troops and urged immediate secession for Missouri.
H. Boyle called on the crowd to rally in defense of the Confederacy, the California Weekly News reported. Boyle, a Moniteau County resident, made "a patriotic appeal to all true Missourians to rally around the Southern flag and stand firm in defense of Southern rights, and to resist to the last the aggressions of the Northern fanatics and infidels.," the newspaper reported.
