• Suicide Bomber Kills 5 at Un Office in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - A suicide bomber struck the lobby of the U.N. World Food Program office in Islamabad on Monday, killing at least five staff members of the organization, according to police and U.N. officials. The Pakistani interior minister, Rehman Malik, said that the bomber, who detonated about 16 pounds of explosives, was wearing the uniform of a paramilitary unit assigned to guard diplomatic missions in the area. Police officials said the attack, which occurred shortly after 12 p.m. as the offices were busy with people, indicated a serious security breach in a building tightly guarded by private security officers.
