Nixon appointed Shelton to the entity that provides financing programs for Missouri businesses, local governments and state agencies. Shelton, who received his law degree from St. Louis University and his MBA from Washington University, is also a member of the Missouri Bar Board of Governors.

SEDALIA -- The Missouri Development Finance Board today approved an incentives package that will allow Columbia's 3M plant to move forward with plans to add approximately 120 employees over the next three years. The company employs 208 people today.
Michael Golden, finance officer with the Missouri Development Finance Board, said the incentives package will help 3M with $24 million in infrastructure costs over a 24-month period. Salaries for the new jobs are expected to average $44,600.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Kansas City Chiefs may pack up and head for St. Joseph when they open training camp in 2010.
Citing Missouri Development Finance Board documents, the St. Joseph News-Press reported Friday that the Chiefs have committed in writing to moving their training camp from River Falls, Wis., to Missouri Western State University pending approval of a $25 million state tax credit proposal.

JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri's small businesses will have access to additional loan funding within the next three months under an executive order signed today by Gov. Jay Nixon.
Nixon directed the state's Department of Economic Development and the Missouri Development Finance Board to create a pool of about $2 million designated solely for no- or low-interest loans. The money will come from participation fees collected on MDFB loans and from other sources. Nixon said he envisions providing about 80 loans of $25,000 each to "young innovators and small business owners who will turn our economy around.
