Russia, which has relied on the Chinese and Indian markets for highvalue arms sales, has worked in recent years to expand its base of customers through creative financing options, such as debt swaps and "licensed production agreements," which allow its customers to produce and sell Russian weapons, Grimmett said. Russian exports to China during the reporting period have included fighter aircraft, destroyers, submarines, antiship missiles, military transport aircraft, aerial refueling tankers, and jet engines.

Edgewood-based CPI Aerostructures announced Wednesday it has received a purchase order from the U.S. Air Force valued at $1.24 million. Under the terms of the purchase order, CPI will provide structural assemblies for the C-5, a large military transport aircraft built by Lockheed Martin. CPI is scheduled to begin delivering the aircraft parts to the Air Force in mid-2012.
Missouri Task Force 1 will mobilize tomorrow for a three-day training exercise that will take most task force members to the Spirit of St. Louis Airport via a C-130 military transport aircraft.
