A benefit bull roast for Hanover teen Mike Snider will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Nov. 19 at Glen Burnie Elks Lodge 2266, located at the corner of Quarterfield and Stevenson roads in Severn. The 16-year-old was racing for the youth organization Middle Atlantic Motocross Association last June when he crashed his dirt bike and suffered severe brain trauma. Mr. Snider is home with his parents, Marian and Walter "Mike" Snider, and is going through extensive physical therapy. Proceeds from the fund-raiser will help offset his mounting medical bills.

Gary Suter became one of the first stars of the United States Hockey League after it became an all-Junior circuit in 1979. This fall, he will be the first USHL alumni to be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, Minn. He will be joined by NHL greats Chris Chelios and Keith Tkachuk, Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider and broadcaster Mike Emrick.

Longtime NHL players Chris Chelios, Keith Tkachuk and Gary Suter were selected for induction into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday. They were joined by Philadelphia Flyers founder and current owner Ed Snider along with play-by-play announcer Mike Emrick. The formal induction will take place this fall.
