Legal Services of Eastern Missouri announced Bryan Cave made a three-year, $50,000 per year donation to its Bar Campaign. Launched in April, the goal of the campaign is to raise $600,000 a year for three years for legal aid to low-income people throughout the nonprofit organization's 21-county service area. Since the silent portion of the campaign started last fall, more than $400,000 has been raised. Recently, Husch Blackwell Sanders pledged to contribute $55,000 a year for three years. The Office of Advocacy released three new research reports in February. The Tax Debts of Small Business Owners in Bankruptcy examines the effects taxes have on small business owners in bankruptcy. The Rural and Urban Establishment Births and Deaths Using the US Census Bureau's Business Information Tracking Series study found that there were 11 million establishment births and 9.7 million establishment deaths between 1990 and 2003. Micro-finance is a left wing attack on the free enterprise system; as such, it ought to be opposed by all freedom lovers, at least in its present format.
