A group of community leaders and volunteers who want to help Pittsburgh police diversify its ranks complained Friday that they are being ignored by city officials, including Mayor Luke Ravenstahl. People affiliated with Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network, or PIIN, said Ravenstahl and Public Safety Director Michael Huss have not responded to multiple calls and a hand-delivered letter asking to meet and discuss the decision to suspend a new practice of including civilians on interview panels for police candidates.
