This division will be dominated by the two Milford schools again and Foran looks to be the favorite. The Lions have a true ace in Brian Ward. Junior center fielder Mike Pascarella will lead the offense and is 14 hits away from 100 career hits. A--The defending SCC tournament champions, Law has talent returning in players like senior Brett Michael Doran and senior Josh Rouse. But the question for the Lawmen is pitching. Doran can throw hard and Zach Soulier has improved. But it lacks a bona fide No. 1 pitcher, something its cross-town rival has.
A--After a subpar season in 2009, Guilford will likely return the state tournament. The Indians return a collection of seniors, most notably top pitcher Craig Schlitter.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Twenty years after the Madrid Peace Conference and the launch of the Oslo era, and a decade after those hopes for peace were shattered by the Second Intifada, the United States and Israel face unprecedented challenges. From attempts to isolate and delegitimize Israel at the United Nations to Iran's nuclear ambitions, from suicide bombers to cyber-warfare, the threats are many and increasing. The political situation in the Middle East following the Arab Spring is tenuous at best. With the Obama administration making the Arab-Israeli peace process the focus of Middle East foreign policy, in order to meet these threats, the United States must work closely with its allies, above all Israel.

Brett Michael Doran could have made an immediate impact at any one of the Division I schools in the Northeast that expressed interest in the Law second baseman. He would have likely received some scholarship money to lighten the tuition load, too.

WEST HAVEN -- Brett Michael Doran stepped to the plate and drove a pitch from Foran left-hander Brian O'Keefe over the left field wall at Yale Field -- again. It was Doran's second two-run home run on the day in nearly the same spot. More importantly, though, his second sparked a six-run fourth inning. That offensive eruption led to No. 2 Law's first Southern Connecticut Conference tournament baseball championship as the Lawmen beat No. 4 Foran 11-6 Saturday in the all-Milford title game.
