The business of 29-year-old Mathis Young and his mother, Mariamne, has gone to the dogs and cats - literally. The duo, which launched Aussie Pet Mobile Co. just over a year ago, go to people's homes and groom their dogs and cats from two specially-designed, self contained Mercedes Sprinter vans.
Better- than-expected U.S. sales of Dodge- and Freightliner- branded Mercedes vans are prompting DaimlerChrysler executives in Germany to take another look at a proposed auto plant near Savannah, according to Monday's issue of Automotive News. The magazine cites a source at Mercedes-Benz Vans in Germany, who says discussions about reviving plans for a U.S. factory are under way, with a decision expected in the fall. Production would begin in 2007.

Ken LaValle introduced legislation this week that would fold the Long Island Power Authority under the New York Power Authority, a move he said would save money and increase transparency for ratepayers.
