The Jr. Dixon Foundation has been opened in the memory of my loving and giving son, Burley L. Dixon Jr. who was killed this year on Jan. 6. Burley would always extend a helping hand to those in need. He was a student at Howard University where he was a big brother to young boys without fathers. He organized rape prevention seminars that are still in place today at Howard University. Higher Risk for Latinos Emphasizes Importance of National Memory Screening Day Event

Rena Dixon, founder and president of the Heart of Gold Foundation for Sarcoidosis, started the nonprofit foundation in memory of her husband, Kenneth Glen Dixon Sr., who passed away Jan. 31, 2006 from undetected cardiac sarcoidosis.
The foundation plans to open the Kenneth Glen Dixon Sr. Center of Excellence for Sarcoidosis, which will combine patient information with laboratory findings to provide clinical relevance to basic science research.
