That's why McDonald's franchisees Charlie and Barbara Golding razed one of their eight Colorado Springs-area restaurants this summer, at Academy Boulevard and Flintridge Drive on the city's north side, and are constructing a new McDonald's on the same site. The old restaurant closed July 9 and the new one is targeted to open around Nov. 1.
