Ever since our daughter Katy's loveable dog, Ben, started to get old, I've hoped that the Grim Reaper would call for me before Ben. I knew how painful it would be for Katy, and therefore for me knowing her grief, and missing the furry little granddog myself. Being a natural coward, I'd rather have skipped that pain.
