The New York Yankees kept their rally alive. The Boston Red Sox ran theirs into the ground. The result was a 7-4 Yankees victory Saturday afternoon at Fenway Park. With no runners on and two outs in the third inning, eight straight Yankees reached base and six scored against starter Matt Clement (10-3).
Boston almost rallied in the fourth. Down 6-2, the Red Sox looked to have loaded the bases with one out after Bill Mueller singled to center. But Doug Mirabelli tried to go from first to third on the hit - not noticing that Kevin Millar had been held at third. Mirabelli was tagged out, and a Mark Bellhorn strikeout ended the rally.
