VIRGINIA BEACH - Thomas Edwin Neale Jr. passed away Jan. 9, 2007, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital at the age of 88. Born in Princess Anne County, Virginia March 15, 1918, Mr. Neale graduated from Maury High School in 1936 and became a decorated war veteran during World War II while serving in the Army Infantry. Mr. Neale's long history with the milk industry included his position as president of Bircherd Dairy in Norfolk and general manager of Marva Maid Dairy, which was owned by Maryland/Virginia Milk Producers Association. During this time, he served as a director of the Tidewater Dairy Council and Tidewater Milk Board, and also served on the International Association of Ice Cream Manufacturing Board of Directors.
