He was born in Jacksonville, FL on January 31, 1923, to parents Joseph Thomas Lester and Florence Wilson Lester, now deceased. Joe had one sister, Mary Alice Lester Poekel, of Essex Fells NJ, who passed away in 2004. He was married to his beloved wife, Margaret "Monni" Sanders Clark Lester (formerly of Cleveland Heights, OH) for 58 years. WAYNESVILLE, Mo. -- Lester "Jay" Rohrer, son of the late Raymond and Mary Catherine (Mumaw) Rohrer, was born March 23, 1953, in Wooster. He passed away at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, surrounded by family and friends at his home in Waynesville, Mo.
As a young boy, Jay and his family were members of the Wooster Mennonite community. He grew up in Smithville (Wayne County) and graduated from Smithville High School before later attending Columbia College and Jacksonville State University.
