A new Virginia law authorizing police officers to detain illegal immigrants has been misunderstood by Northern Virginia immigrants to the point that some have hoarded food to avoid leaving their homes, police said.

Louis G. Jennings, 93, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Monday, January 9, at Hospice of Lancaster County's Mount Joy Facility, following a lengthy illness. He was the devoted husband of Carole Behrens Jennings, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage last June. Born in Sewaren, NJ, on May 6, 1918, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Sarah Knox McCoy Jennings.
