, 82, of Columbia, died on August 26, 2011. He was the husband of Mary Louise (Fess) Bartholomay with whom he was married for 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Leona (Ludwig) Bartholomay and his grandson Thomas George Rainey. Survivors include his wife, daughter Nancy Bartholomay Rainey and son-in-law Phil H. Rainey, Jr. of Mount Joy, son G. Andrew Bartholomay and daughter-in-law Diane (Douglass) Bartholomay of State College, and son John M. Bartholomay of Mountville and Grandson Patrick A. Rainey of King of Prussia. He is also survived by a brother Richard Bartholomay of Rochester, NY and a sister Mary Ann (Bartholomay) Cooper of Rochester, NY.

, 71, of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late George N. Zink and Mary J. Nace Bortner. She was a skin packer for Danaher Corp. for 15 years and retired from Tyco in 2004. She also worked at Joe's Steak House for 25 years. She enjoyed going to the Columbia Market and traveling throughout Columbia. She was a good spirited, kind and loving mother.

LOS ANGELES - The legal system that has kept convicted killer Kevin Cooper alive on death row for more than two decades is broken and causes needless suffering for the families of murder victims, a grieving Chino Hills woman told a panel of commissioners Wednesday.
Mary Ann Hughes, whose 11-year-old son, Christopher, Cooper was convicted of murdfering, told the California Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice that death row inmates such as Cooper are given too many opportunities to challenge their sentences, while grieving survivors of their victims are forced to wait far too long for justice.

Mr. Eades is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rachel; children, Melvin Jr. and Veronica; mother, Olevia Eades; siblings, Sebell Vann, Christine Jones, Odessa Cooper, Johnny Eades, Mary Ann Gibbs, Sylvester Eades, Jonas Eades Jr., James Eades and Dorothy Larkins; and two grandchildren, Tamiko Finn and Annette London.
