Everyday Food Light," from the kitchens of Martha Stewart Living (Clarkson Potter, $24.99)
"Light" is the kitchen buzzword of the moment. The food magazines, websites and myriad other recipe sources (including this column) that just a few weeks ago celebrated the holidays with butter, bacon and heavy cream have now made a 180-degree turn, to focus on vegetables, fruit and lean proteins. In a rainbow of assorted brilliant colors - red, green, yellow, orange, purple, brown - juicy tomatoes are flooding the markets with a splendid feast for the eyes and table. Dress up those beauties from your garden, farmers' or local markets, the simpler the better, for some delicious eating.

Everyday Food, the easy-prep magazine from Martha Stewart, above, has had a redesign that gives it a sleek, contemporary look. It incorporates new features: "Dinner 1-2-3," a three-step meal; "Eat Smart," remaking a familiar indulgent dish; and "A to Z," a reference section.
Elsewhere in print: We drool over the photography and recipes in Aussie Donna Hay's eponymous magazine from Down Under . Both Food & Wine and Gourmet take to the road this month, with Gourmet doing a special travel issue and F&W offering "50 Amazing Dishes from the Road." Eating Well offers a mix-and-match bunch of marinades and spice rubs to celebrate the opening of grilling season.
