Bassist Ben Wolfe, long part of the New York jazz scene, has just released "No Strangers Here," his fifth recording as a leader and his first for the St. Louis-based nationally distributed MAXJAZZ label. Wolfe, born in Baltimore and raised in Portland, Ore., moved to New York when he was in his early 20s. He quickly landed high- profile gigs. He spent nearly five years with Harry Connick Jr. touring the globe and serving as the pianist's musical director.
