Manhattan Construction honored for Oneok Field
Manhattan Construction Co. has been honored with the 2010 Excellence in Construction award for the company's Oneok Field ballpark project in downtown Tulsa. Manhattan received the award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Oklahoma.

PPG Industries Inc. said Friday it will supply glass to be installed in One World Trade Center under construction in Lower Manhattan.
The company received an order to supply Starphire ultra-clear, low-iron glass for the podium wall system on the tower. Also called Freedom Tower, the skyscraper will reach 102 stories, or 1,776 feet when completed in 2013.

A North Bergen construction company and its two owners -- one from Saddle Brook -- were charged with theft in connection with a multimillion-dollar scheme to overbill banks, hedge funds and other clients of a New York interior renovation company, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday.
Liberty Contracting Corp. and owner Kevin Fotiadis, 32, were among half a dozen subcontractors and seven owners accused in the scheme outlined by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.

Port-related industrial buildings are proving to be very attractive to companies looking to move high volumes of product quickly throughout the region. In the past two weeks, Mimeo.com and Target have leased space in a new building in Newark and one under construction in Jersey City.
Mimeo.com, a Manhattan-based custom printing and delivery company, has leased 75,000 square feet in the 191,000-square-foot AMB Liberty Logistics Center. The warehouse is a mile and half north of Newark Liberty International Airport and two miles from the port, built on 9.35 acres that once held 27 buildings. AMB Liberty was completed in March.
