The buyer of a foreclosed Manhattan Beach house last owned by a former Los Angeles Clipper is suing the occupants, alleging they are refusing to leave the once $2.7 million residence or pay rent.
The lawsuit by Soda Partners, a company that purchased the house Sept. 2 for $1.5 million, charges that Greg and Sara Everhard and their children are squatters because they have failed to provide documents showing they have a lease to be in the house in the 1500 block of Eighth Street.

SEAL BEACH - City Manager David Carmany has decided to move up the coast to become city manager of Manhattan Beach, according to City Hall sources.
He spent part of the day notifying his former supervisors - the five members of the City Council - and reportedly touring his newly adopted town.

Santa Claus will begin his travels to Manhattan Beach on Nov. 30 and will conclude his visits Dec. 17.
The Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, Manhattan Beach firefighters and police reserves and several community groups will help Santa make his rounds. The float will set out at 5:30 each night with the exception of Dec. 14 when it will begin at 7 p.m., and complete its rounds by about 9 p.m.
