Metairie-based dental practice management firm OCA Inc. filed a Chapter 11 reorganization plan with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. The court tentatively approved the plan on the condition OCA's senior lenders - Bank of America, as agent, and affiliates of Silver Point Capital - and the official committee of unsecured creditors support it.
OCA plans to cut senior lenders' secured debts from approximately $92 million to $50 million. Senior lenders will receive all equity of the reorganized OCA upon emerging from Chapter 11.

Filios, 45, has served as president or chief operating officer of several Colorado startups. He previously was COO at Net-Results, a Golden-based software company, for 1[1/2] years. Management Practice Inc. conducted a comprehensive study of CEO selection. The results reveal current trends in board selection of chief executives and identify the factors that contribute to an executive's ascension to the top of the organization. It is found that the new breed of CEOs tend to have more operations manufacturing backgrounds than administrative, legal and financial backgrounds, and that they are more likely to have mentors and to have served as mentors throughout their careers. Findings show that most of the CEOs surveyed were recruited from inside the organization, and that these chief executives perform less effectively than those who were recruited from the outside.
