  • This was also the aim of [Abraham Lincoln], who said, "If I could save the Union without freeing any slaves, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing aU slaves, I would do it." Malcolm X said, "By any means necessary." [Barack Hussein Obama] is following in Lincoln's footsteps. See: www.reinstatealtonmaddox.net for "Truth and Reconciliation Commission," "Black Solidarity Day," "A Political Guide to Election Day 2008," "Election Day: A Family Affair in New York" and "Emergency Plan for Election Day 2008. Black people had a reason to be elated on Election Day, but it was not because Obama was the first person of African ancestry to receive keys to the White House. Federal law enforcement agents from the Justice Department seized and destroyed aU copies of WiUiam Chancellor's boo...

  • We can mobilize, march, rally, demonstrate, protest and make a whole lot of noise all day and everyday. The only thing that's missing is a little touch of force," said David X of the New Black Panther Party. He added that his organization "dealt with the Katrina aftermath. We also have dealt and still deal with police brutality on a regular basis. We may even stop by West Virginia. Kwame Ture said, 'Organize, organize!' Malcolm X said, 'By any means necessary.' Well, the plight is right, the fight is right. "Jena serves to demonstrate once again, the unfairness of the world in which we live," said Ian Forrest, founder and host of "Caribbean Dialogue." "It serves to reinforce in the minds of many the belief that Justice Taney's ruling of all those years ago [regarding how much of a hum...

  • I know, some will think I'm shoveling some of that outdated Black pride, race integrity stuff when I note that Black people have given in to the Hollywood racism factory. Think back: Frederick Douglass took his freedom from his slave master; Sojourner Truth asked; "Ain't I a woman"; Malcolm X advocated freedom "by any means necessary" and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. declared, "We shall over come. There are still apologists for actors who take racially demeaning roles. Watching the documentary produced by Harvard Professor Skip Gates on racism in Hollywood the other day was a revelation. When he interviewed Sam Jackson, the Black actor seemed agitated by the fact that the NAACP often raised the issue of racism in Hollywood by criticizing the paucity of roles and the demeaning nature of ...

  • I'm a writer and people oftentimes tell me what they think I should or shouldn't write. Devilish, modern day bullies are always telling me if I don't write about what they tell me to I won't be around long or that publishers would refuse to print my report. If I don't, they say they will ruin my career, they say they will damage my reputation or they say they cause me severe economic hardship. I ask all of the literary bullies that want to control reporters and columnists, Where would we be if our fore-fathers and ancestors were afraid to do the right thing because a bully ask-ed them to be. Where would we be if Nat Turner, Denmark Vesey, Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass didn't stand up and speak out about the overseers and other slavery day bullies. Where would we be if Marcus Gar...

  • It was a sacrifice," said conspiracy theorist Azzariah Bey this week "[Larry Davis] was 41 years old and Diallo was shot at 41 times, it was a full moon and a lunar eclipse. Malcolm X was assassinated February 211965... and look 43 years later. Malcolm said defend yourself, 'by any means necessary' and Larry did just that and said the same thing. Davis never kidded himself about his own mortality. "He knew this was the only way he was coming out of prison - in a body bag," [Stanley Cohen] said. "It didn't matter how many cases he won. It didn't matter how many juries found Him not guilty. Larry told me, You don't shoot as many cops as I did, beat them at trial and ever go home a free man." "An ambulance got to the facility at 7:46 p.m.," [Kriss] said. They continued to treat Davis for...

  • I do not believe that African-American ministers should allow their political views to dictate the subjects and tone of their sermons. Some believe their calling is to consistently petition society to address its role in depriving African-Americans of the full benefits of citizenship. Others believe they are called to inform, encourage, coax and propel people of color to provide for themselves, shape their own reality and build institutions to better their communities. Just as the black community is not monolithic in its religious choices, personal opinions, or political affiliations, the black clergy is not limited in its sermonic topics to one perspective. Enforcing unanimity of voices is a dangerous proposition. Throughout our history, various voices have served our communities well ...

  • [Marion Nzinga Stamps] was an "in-yourface activist." Let us remember her contributions. The white power structure and many of their Black allies fought Marion "tooth and nail" and tried to undermine her credibility with the masses. As a result of Marion's leadership on the land-grab issue, many African people were educated on why we should not abandon the urban areas so that white people could take the land back. Sister Marion truly understood what [Malcolm X] meant when he said, "By any means necessary!" In her organizing activities, Marion lived by this slogan.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. Barack Obama has the audacity to hope. Hillary Clinton, well, she's proven that she'll get what she wants by any means necessary. Sure, the infamous motto was first adopted by Malcolm X as his argument for, if necessary, violently defending the rights and freedoms of blacks in the 1960's. But it fits just as tidily for Sen. Hillary Clinton in her quest for the presidency. Forget the rules, the truth, the record, whatever it takes. From her constant contradictions, to the incessant whining, subtle race-baiting, blatant pandering and trouble with truth-telling - it's a sordid pattern of deception that rings Clintonian.
