PORTSMOUTH - Louise Marshall Bridgers Wells passed away July 30, 2010, in Suffolk. She was born in Wilson, N.C., the daughter of the late James M. Bridgers and Annie Louise Marshall Bridgers. She graduated from Wilson High School and was a member of West End United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wells was predeceased by her parents and her husband, David Ray Wells, a Portsmouth fire department captain. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Wells and her husband Steve Latham, Jacqueline Rae Wells Wernimont and her husband Jerry; four grandchildren, Jennifer Wernimont, Ashlee Wernimont, David Latham and Benjamin Latham; a sister, Sondra Drori; nieces, nephews and many treasured friends, including Greta Jean Wells, Mary Peele and Charlotte Opauski.

She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Lillian Blythe Johnson, and was preceded in death by her husband, George Booth Wells, and a brother, John H. Johnson Jr. Mrs. Wells was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church for over 50 years, the Ettrick American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Friendship Senior Citizens Club. Mrs. Wells was a retired production supervisor for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. in Petersburg.
