  • A San Rafael man has filed a complaint against the local taxi service Marin Yellow Cab, alleging discrimination and racial profiling. According to a press release issued by the San Francisco-based Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, on June 22 of last year, Michael Orange got into a taxi at the San Rafael Transit Center and asked to be driven to his Santa Venetia home.   • A major Denver taxi operator is seeking a state license to expand to the Colorado Springs area and become the first competitor to Yellow Cab in more than five years, using a 2008 state law that significantly lowered the hurdles to taxi competition along the Front Range.
