Cheyenne main post office to accept tax returns until midnight

Military veterans who have a 100 percent disability rating with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are eligible for a recently enacted real estate tax exemption, which some localities have been denying to certain veterans, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has concluded.
Cuccinelli issued an official, nonbinding opinion Friday in response to a request from four state legislators who had raised concerns about local implementation of the tax exemption. His office announced the opinion Monday.

The property tax relief efforts for One Niagara, the nine-story Rainbow Boulevard office building, took a new turn Monday.

Maryland counties unexpectedly awash with extra cash in May will see their finances come back down to earth this month as the state fixes a flubbed formula used to disburse income tax revenue to local jurisdictions.
