Two top executives of the financially troubled Academy Bank have joined Kirkpatrick Bank to help Oklahoma-based Kirkpatrick become a major player in the local banking industry.
Steve Ingham became president of Kirkpatrick's Colorado operations late last month, while Terry Darby was named vice president of commercial lending in Colorado at the same time. Ingham replaces Steve Strunk, who became Colorado's banking commissioner in April.

Morgan Harris had a healthy concern about starting up a new retail business in a down economy, but she wasn't overly worried, even with the new debt of a seven-year business loan from a local bank through the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center.
The trick, Harris said, is that Green Bambino is profiting from helping other people save money. Rather than extravagance, she stocked her shelves with environmentally friendly cloth diapers and other inexpensive child products such as reusable lunch bags. Consumers expect that a smaller impact on the environment means a smaller impact on the wallet.
