School officials have new authority to search student vehicles for drugs, weapons and other contraband. The New Jersey State Supreme Court ruled Nov. 10 that student cars, when parked on school property with special permission from administrators, are subject to search without a warrant when a school official has "reasonable suspicion" of illegal activity.
