Nonetheless, here are the picks: 1. Fish spatula - Nimble and flexible, as useful for flipping pancakes as it is for a piece of cod. 2. July 1 marked the beginning of a fiscal year for many nonprofits. By now, board meetings have found a place on everyone's calendar. Committee work is ramping up and high-quality boards of directors have established a strong structure so their committees function as the board workhorses.
While the finance and resource development committees (two standing committees highly recommended for all organizations) are hopefully hard at work overseeing the resources of the organization, I often find that the board governance - or board development - committees seem to lag behind.
