Why they are in trouble
I have always been a staunch supporter of the postal service and have used its services most of the time. I have now discovered, however, why they are in trouble and losing money. On May 9, I sent a box of three books from Colorado Springs to Laramie, Wyoming, approximately 175 miles and a three-hour drive at most. I sent them by book rate, or whatever they call it, because it was the cheapest. Ten days later, they have not arrived. I was told that the book rate is also the slowest, but should it be that slow? I was also told that if the books had not arrived by the 23, 14 days after I mailed them, they'd look into it. A postal person could have walked them there in that length of time, not that I would expect that.
