The new kid on the online music block, Lala.com, offers a fresh alternative to iTunes. Lala lets users listen to just about any song or album for free, in hopes they'll buy music they like. Yahoo Japan Corp., which operates the country's most-visited Web portal, started an online audio streaming service that lets users listen to full songs for free to attract customers to its music sites.
