  • Mary Anne Bentley Spencer was recently inducted into the Lincoln Memorial University Educator's Hall of Fame. Spencer graduated from LMU in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to receive her elementary certification from Miami University and later from the University of Georgia. In 1982, she received her Master of Education degree from the University of Memphis in supervision and administration.

  • Dawn Alicia Clarke of Cordova and Emily DeHority and Calvin Green of Memphis received their white coats at the White Coat Ceremony at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tenn., on Sept. 25 . All are first-year osteopathic medical students at LMU-DCOM. The White Coat Ceremony is a special ceremony designed to mark a student's entrance into medical school.

  • For Deke Barron, the road to medical college has been long and steep, making his recent White Coat Ceremony at DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn., all the more rewarding. Barron, the son of Dixie Leigh Barron of Hernando, was "robed" with his white coat along with 160 other first-year medical students. Attending the ceremony along with Deke's mother, were his uncle and aunt, Bob and Peggy Leigh, also of Hernando.

  • VIRGINIA BEACH - Michele Elaine Skliris "Mickie" Stone, 60, passed away peacefully last Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, after a 16-month fight with cancer. Survivors include her husband, Steve; her son, Michael; her daughter, Jennifer; her mother, Tanya Skliris; her brother, Nick; and her in-laws, Harold and Jewell Stone. Mickie was raised in Northern Virginia. After graduating from Lincoln Memorial University, she married her husband, Steve, in 1970. She renewed her vows in 2000 at the Graceland Wedding Chapel with an Elvis impersonator performing the ceremony. She taught school for a few years and then devoted herself full time to raising her two children.
