Botetourt County libraries will show "Cars 2" in November Star race car Lightning McQueen and the incomparable tow truck Mater take their friendship to exciting new places when they head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix to determine the world's fastest car. As the 3-D "Cars 2" races into theaters today, the automotive world created by John Lasseter will have some new twists and turns. Pixar head Lasseter is directing for the first time since "Cars" in 2006, and Owen Wilson is back to voice the role of speedster Lightning McQueen, while Larry the Cable Guy reprises his expanded role as Mater, the beat-up tow truck.

Cars 2" features a lot more of two things: Mater, the rusty, rednecky tow truck voiced by Larry the Cable Guy, and car racing. On the surface, this sounds like the appeal of the sequel to the animated "Cars" might be limited, somewhat, to the NASCAR demographic, or at least a whole lot more than the first film was.
