This fall, Eric P Wallace, PICPA president, and Albert E Trexler, PICPA executive director and CEO, set out across the state for PICPA's annual Professional Issues Update presentation. A record number of members came out to learn about the state, national, and international issues affecting the profession. Overall, almost 700 members took advantage of these important, informative, and free programs. Current state and local topics included issues such as the newly passed Senate Bill 838, which covers license mobility and new education requirements for becoming a CPA. Members also received an update regarding progress on PICPA's four major 2008-2009 initiatives: diversity, financial literacy, the member needs assessment survey, and student outreach initiatives.
