Scott St. Onge is the new managing director of Clean Air Partners, a public-private partnership chartered by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the Baltimore Metropolitan Council that strives to educate residents and businesses about air quality and encourage them to take action to reduce air pollution. St. Onge most recently worked with Washington Capital Management, advising organizations and political figures on political giving and pending congressional legislation. St. Onge also has worked with the National Advisory Board at the Democratic National Committee on fundraising and at the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee organizing events and forums. -

INDIANAPOLIS - Democrats whose 52-48 majority in the Indiana House of Representatives is in jeopardy this November will get some help from the national party. Last week, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee announced plans for a $20 million "Redistricting Fund.
SAN BERNARDINO - Campaign finance reform has moved forward after the City Council gave authority to have a Charter amendment drafted that limits campaign contributions and spending. On a 4-2 vote, the council moved to have the Legislative Review Committee prepare an amendment that would establish campaign contribution limits from individuals, political action committees and businesses to all candidates for the city's elected offices.

Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty chose to hold the special election two days before Thanksgiving in an effort to keep voter turnout low, according to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC). The people of Minnesota sent a clear message to the Governor and the Republican Party yesterday,"said Michael Davies, executive director of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. "The Governor scheduled two elections during two holiday weeks and the voters are saying they will not put up with these underhanded tactics.
City Councilman Rikke Van Johnson must settle for a partial win after his colleagues agreed to study reforms that could dramatically change the political landscape in San Bernardino. Johnson, who seeks re-election Nov. 8 to what he says will be his final term on the City Council, proposed referring two campaign reform initiatives to the council's Legislative Review Committee in order to prepare City Charter amendments that could be placed on a future ballot. His colleagues agreed to study term limits but balked at reviewing caps on campaign contributions.
Democratic precinct committee officers chose former legislative lobbyist Sharon Wylie, former mayoral campaign manager Temple Lentz and legislative assistant Jeremy Zegas on Monday as finalists for appointment to fill the vacant 49th Legislative District seat. Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart said the commissioners might interview the three and make the appointment to fill the seat formerly held by Rep. Jim Jacks, D-Vancouver, as soon as Wednesday afternoon.
We can just hear Hector Balderas, under his breath, muttering "Let's get this straight: Because New Mexico is in a financial crisis, our state should pare down its pursuit of waste and corruption?
